NCN ogłosiło wiosenne konkursy OPUS 29 i PRELUDIUM 24

The National Science Centre has announced the OPUS 29 and PRELUDIUM 24 calls. Applications for both calls in the OSF system will be accepted until 17 June 2025, 4:00 p.m., and the results are planned to be announced by the end of December 2025. The total budget of both competitions amounts to PLN 600 million.

OPUS is a call addressed at researchers at any stage of their research career, regardless of the academic degree held, including those who do not hold a PhD degree. Projects may be carried out over a period of 12, 24, 36 or 48 months. The budget for a single project is not limited, but the costs planned in the application must be justified by the subject and scope of the research.

PRELUDIUM is a call addressed at researchers who are not PhD holders (this condition must be met on the closing date of the call). Maximum funds available in the call amount to PLN 70,000, PLN 140,000 or PLN 210,000 to finance projects of 12 months, 24 months or 36 months, respectively. A research team must not include more than three researchers, including the principal investigator and mentor.

The most important changes in the announced calls (compared to the previous editions): new division of subject panels; the costs of publishing a monograph are an ineligible cost from the direct costs category; the list of literature is not included in the page limits; change in requirements regarding the person who can enter the competition for a post-doc position (applies to the OPUS call).
