Prof. Aneta Pawłowska wraz z naukowcami z Ukrainy wyróżniona w konkursie International Photography Awards

We are pleased to inform you that the publication entitled "W dobrej i złej doli. Przekształcenia stylistyczne fotografii Sergija Belińskiego" [In Good and Bad Fortune. Stylistic Transformations of Serhii Belinsky's Photography] by Prof. Aneta Pawłowska (together with Ukrainian authors – Julia Iwaszko and Oleksandr Iwaszko) has been distinguished and qualified for the final stage of the photography competition – International Photography Awards.

The publication entitled "W dobrej i złej doli. Przekształcenia stylistyczne fotografii Sergija Belińskiego" together with a critical text by Prof. Aneta Pawłowska, was published by the Publishing House of the Lodz Scientific Society with financial support from the University of Lodz. The entire monograph was assessed as a book artifact. Although, of course, the magnificent photographs by Serhii Belinsky, who fought on the front lines of the Ukrainian war, was subject to the most rigorous assessment. However, it should be emphasized that the book is the result of a series of exhibitions of Sergii Belinski's photographic works under the common title "A światłość w ciemności świeci i ciemność jej nie ogarnęła" initiated by an exhibition at the Wozownia 11 Gallery of the University of Lodz, and then by subsequent presentations of works at the Universities in Ostrava, Opava, Poznań, and also the Lodz University of Technology.

Prof. Aneta Pawłowska and Julia Iwaszko

Professor Aneta Pawłowska was the curator of the exhibitions and also organised scientific panels devoted to the war conflict in Ukraine and the prospects of rebuilding the war damage. Professor Julia Iwaszko (from the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture), who was a guest at the Institute of History of Art at the University of Lodz thanks to a scholarship from the University of Lodz for scientists from Ukraine, financed as part of the Excellence Initiative – Research University competition, supported curatorial activities of the entire undertaking.
