We have been working on supporting people with special needs in their access to art and culture at the Institute of History of Art of the University of Lodz since 2013. In recent years, we have implemented two large projects: "Sztuka łódzka na tle sztuki europejskiej. Wykluczeni/Włączeni" [Łódź art against the background of European art. Excluded/Included] and "Przyjazne miasto. Wsparcie samodzielności osób z dysfunkcją wzroku w zakresie wykorzystania sieci połączeń komunikacji miejskiej w Łodzi" [Friendly city. Supporting the independence of people with visual impairments in using public transport network in Lodz] (co-financed by the European Union and the National Centre for Research and Development) as well as a number of smaller activities for the inclusiveness of art. We are extremely pleased that these activities are recognised and contribute to a different perception of the world around us.
– said Prof. Aneta Pawłowska (Institute of History of Art of the University of Lodz)
The "Popularyzator Nauki" competition awards people and institutions that popularise science, help others to learn more about and better understand phenomena occurring around people, present the latest scientific research results, share knowledge and scientific passion with people, regardless of their age, level of education and professional career. This year, the jury qualified 23 people and teams involved in the popularisation of science to the final.
